I'm not sure how much I'll be posting this week, but here's a few random sketchbook pages for now.

RoboDog Process

Been kind of busy today, but here's a quick sneak peak of the subject of one of the digital paintings I'm currently working on.
What do you do if your mom won't let you have a dog?
You build a giant robot one, of course.

Short Story Illustration

I had an assignment in one of my classes in which I had to choose a short story and create a book cover for it as if it were a novel.  I like the way the drawings turned out, so I thought I'd post it.
Sketch designing the figure for the front cover.
The short story is "Sea Oak" by George Saunders.  A strange dark comedy in which a poor family's nice old aunt comes back to life as a very cynical undead.

Braaainz...
That awkward moment when your
aunt comes back to life.

Smart Kids

These are a few quick sketches of the characters I created for the illustrations I'm working on right now.  I'll probably do some proper turn arounds of both of them this week.
Your typical genius inventor kid.  Very smart and a little evil.
His twin sister.  She's also smart but doesn't really apply herself.
Witty, sarcastic and likes videogames.
More of these two to come!

Hide and Seek

A digital painting I did for Portfolio 1.  I've been exploring some different approaches to a sort of  simpler children's style illustration, with line work and some textures.  We'll keep exploring.

imaginary friend.

I'm back baby! Or just arriving...

It's about time I start making daily posts to this blog since I've been creating a lot with little web presence to show for it.  So expect daily sketches as well as the occasional digital painting.  Maybe even some "analog" paintings...
