I haven't updated in a while since I haven't really been able to post work from the project I've been working on. On the side I've been experimenting with animation in flash. I don't have much experience with animation, but I think drawing frame by frame animation is a great exercise for strengthening a sense of force and motion in your drawings. So I'll probably be doing more of this!
Front view walk cycle of a character I designed a while back.
I just had some business cards printed and I thought i'd have some fun and make an animated gif of the design. If you're in downtown Grand Rapids, feel free to stop by Kendall to grab one and see the senior shows and Excellence Award Exhibition in the Fed Galleries.
I decided i'm going to actually start taking pictures of what I'm sketching day to day like everyone else and avoid the inconvenience of scanning things daily. And since I don't have a smart phone, we're going to have to do this thing sans instagram and vintage filters. Sorry everyone...
I just designed a cover for middle school yearbook back in Troy. Inside each letter on the cover is an illustration that represents some aspect of school or the past year (such as snow days, of which they had a ton). All illustrations design and colors are all based roughly on their school logo. I thought I'd share.
I just finished doing some digital work over this next piece in the series I've been working on. This mix of medium is a ton of fun.
